‘Wrong’ address??
Hi all—
I sold an item, bought the buyers’ choice carrier shipping label through eBay, shipped the item. It was forwarded by USPS to a different address, then returned to me with Postage Due $13.77! (More than I paid initially!) The buyer says I shipped item to the wrong address, but I shipped it to the address provided through eBay?!? So…
-I have the item
-buyer has paid for the item and initial shipping
…am I now required to ship it to him AGAIN? It was only a $9 item!!
Please advise!!! TIA!

There are two options for handling a package that was returned to you as not deliverable.
1. Contact the buyer and see if they have another address to ship the item to. If they do then you can share your email address since you have a recent sale together and have them send the funds to you electronically use Venmo or other payment transfer method to pay to ship the item again.
This is not considered an offsite sale since the sale already took place.
You should buy the shipping label on Pirateship.com or other source. Do NOT print another label from the eBay sale or you'll end up with two tracking numbers on the sold listing which will confuse the system.
2. If they don't want the item or don't respond. Go to the sold item and select send refund from the drop down menu next to the item. Then on the next page select OTHER for the reason. Next refund the ITEM PRICE ONLY. Do not give a full refund with the shipping costs. eBay does refund sellers fees on the amount that you refund the buyer. If you have to do this option I'd add the buyer to my blocked buyer list>

Share this with the buyer so that they can update their address in account settings for FUTURE purchases>>
Other members have reported that the address correction is not "sticking" unless they do these steps>
ADD a new address and THEN delete the old one in account settings. Be sure to update ALL of the shipping addresses.

( only do this for the Shipping and return addresses, not your registration address)
