MIgrating from decommissioned Trading API UploadSiteHostedPictures API to the eBay Media API
Summary: ocles_inc is experiencing difficulties transitioning from the deprecated Trading API UploadSiteHostedPictures to the eBay Media API. They encounter a JSON validation error with createImageFromURL, despite using valid parameters, and an HTTP 400 Bad Request error with createImageFromFile due to uncertainty about the correct auth token. They use ColdFusion Markup Language and have had success with other APIs but are seeking assistance to resolve these issues.
Hello, I'm migrating from the decommissioned Trading API UploadSiteHostedPictures API to the eBay Media API but when I use createImageFromURL then even though I use the same values that work in the API Explorer, I get a json validation error that doesn't seem to fit any of the data I'm sending. It's complaining about a hyphen but to my knowledge I don't pass one so it might be a spurious error message, and I haven't been able to get around it. The error message is: {"errors":[{"errorId":2004,"domain":"ACCESS","category":"REQUEST","message":"Invalid request","longMessage":"The request has errors. For help, see the documentation for this API.","parameters":[{"name":"reason","value":"Unexpected character ('-' (code 45)) in numeric value: expected digit (0-9) to follow minus sign, for valid numeric value"}]}]}
When instead I use createImageFromFile then that seems to be delightfully simple, as in no json, but there is no way to test it in the API Explorer, and I'm not sure which auth token to use, and I end up with this error message: {"errors":[{"errorId":2003,"domain":"ACCESS","category":"APPLICATION","message":"Internal error","longMessage":"There was a problem with an eBay internal system or process. Contact eBay developer support for assistance","parameters":[{"name":"code","value":"400"},{"name":"message","value":"HTTP 400 Bad Request"}]}]}
I am using ColdFusion Markup Language; it has been working great for years for various APIs I'm using in production so I don't think that's the issue.
I love how supportive you guys are as to APIs, and I look forward to getting beyond this issue. Thank you!
