Please, help to identify the story and the character behind this design
Dear e-Bay Community,
I'm looking for somebody who is familiar with a tale, kids book, or story behind these Herman Ohme plates. The plot seems like there's some knight enjoying his time in coastal Africa (?). He was attacked by lions. The lions got a toothache after biting the knight.
I found a set of plates made and hand-painted by Herman Ohme in 1902. I have a separate plate without the company's mark from 1891 with the knight on a beach with a parasol. I wonder what's the fable.
