Hallmarks
Curious if anyone can identify these Hallmarks on this sugar spoon, I believe it’s Sheffield based on the crown and I see initials JG below it, and I can make out what I believe is A and a 1 but the other 2 symbols I’m not sure of, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

·1 year agoThese are pseudo-hallmarks. They are fake hallmarks that were intended to imitate the UK system of hallmarks for sterling. Basically, it's a maker's mark used on silver plate, pewter or Britannia metal, to make it look more expensive.
That is not the correct crown for the Sheffield assay office, and this does not have the correct mark for UK sterling either.
