Embroidered Signature on Kashimir Paisley - ID help please?

Summary: A discussion centered around identifying an embroidered signature on a Kashmir paisley shawl. debora(34) suggested it might be a manufacturer's signature and mentioned a similar item in The Met's collection. They emphasized the shawl's popularity in the early Victorian era, suggesting further research could reveal more information.

Hello!  I recently purchased a paisley shawl at auction.  It has an embroidered "signature" of some kind.  Can anyone help me ID this?  I'm assuming the lettering is Kashimir Irdu or another Indian language?  Does this make it a more valuable artisan piece?  It is very light weight wool embroidery, and the black in the center feels like silk.  20260302_133807 - Copy.jpg20260302_133247 - Copy.jpg20260302_133419 - Copy.jpg

I suspect it's the manufacturer's signature. As I'm sure you know, these paisley shawls were enormously popular in the early Victorian era. I found with a quick internet search another signature on a shawl in The Met's collection. Someone somewhere may have identified these.

Hmm.  It's not cotton, it's wool and silk....so perhaps google image is misleading us?  I've never seen a Soviet paisley before either.   I have one similar found that says it's French...which is odd.  Anyone else have ideas?

Google image search will do that won't it?  Just thought there might be something worth looking in to....  The words/numbers below the signature...could that be a year?  It's hard to tell.  Can you take another picture of the signature turned and include more of the placement?  In other words, include more background of the signature & where  it's located.

Picture turned.  Google image searched:    (not sure  if this will help... but the Cryllic stamp reference was interesting to me...maybe that's a lead to pursue?

The image appears to show the embroidered interior lining of a garment, featuring a Cyrillic stamp commonly found on vintage Soviet military items.

    • The text is embroidered directly onto the fabric lining.
    • It indicates a manufacturing mark, often associated with a specific military factory in the USSR.
    • The material appears to be a heavy cotton or synthetic blend typical of vintage military apparel.

Is the signature picture upside down?
