How is easy boost different from promoting individual listings?
Instead of choosing items one at a time, easy boost promotes everything in your account automatically. Your new listings are automatically included too, which means less work for you.

How much does easy boost cost?
There’s no upfront cost. You pay an ad fee only when your item sells. The ad fee you pay is based on the ad rate you set.

Can I choose which listings are promoted?
No. Easy boost promotes all eligible listings in your account. This helps keep things simple and ensures new listings are promoted automatically.

What happens when I create a new listing?
If easy boost is on, any new eligible listings you create will be promoted automatically – no extra steps required.

Can I change my ad rate after turning on easy boost?
Yes. You can update your ad rate at any time from the easy boost banner on the Advertising dashboard in the eBay mobile app.

Can I turn off easy boost?
Yes. You can turn off easy boost at any time. When turning off easy boost, you’ll have the option to stop promotion for all of your listings, or only new listings.

What happens to listings I was already promoting?
If you already have listings promoted using a general strategy, they’ll be included in easy boost automatically and will use the single ad rate you select (replacing the prior ad rate).

How do I see how easy boost is performing?
You can see impressions, clicks, sales, and return on ad spend (ROAS) from the Advertising dashboard in the mobile app.

Who can use easy boost?
Easy boost is available to all sellers who have access to the eBay mobile app, and are eligible to advertise on eBay.

For nearly 31 years, eBay has been more than just a marketplace - it’s been a driving force behind entrepreneurs worldwide. Today, we’re excited to announce the return of our Up & Running Grants program for 2026, now with a fresh emphasis on the future of selling: eBay Live.

As one of eBay’s fastest-growing formats, eBay Live is creating new ways for sellers to engage with buyers in real time and expand their businesses. By bringing together community, shared interests, and interactive shopping, it delivers an immersive and highly engaging experience. This live format offers a more authentic way to shop, currently available across categories like collectibles - including sports trading cards, collectible toys, and comics - as well as tools, beauty and luxury items such as watches, handbags, and jewelry.

Now in its seventh year, the Up & Running Grants program continues to help sellers turn ambition into momentum. We will select 10 sellers, each seller will receive a $10,000 grant to invest in inventory, equipment, marketing, or hiring—paired with expert eBay Live mentorship and a full kit of pro-level live selling equipment. All sellers are eligible to apply, including current eBay Live sellers and those interested in joining the platform.

Important User Agreement Update

We’ve updated eBay’s User Agreement, including the agreement to arbitrate any disputes you may have with us. Our updated User Agreement was posted on May 26, 2026. For users who agreed to a prior version of our User Agreement, this agreement is effective as of June 28, 2026. These changes are designed to support our evolving features and services. We’ve also made clearer shipping options, labels and seller shopping obligations.

We encourage you to read through the updated User Agreement. If you do not agree, you may close your eBay account by June 28, 2026 and stop using our services. If you keep your account with eBay, you agree that your continued use of our services constitutes your acceptance of the updated User Agreement.

USPS® Rate Update

USPS has announced a temporary price update for some Ground Advantage shipments effective May 18th, 2026 to June 7th, 2026. These changes apply to USPS Ground Advantage rates when you purchase labels through eBay Labels.

Rate update highlights:

Overall, this update lowers costs for many 2–5 lb shipments, though changes vary by weight and zone.

2 lb packages: Rates increasing for Zones 1 and 5–8 by up to $0.87, and decreasing for Zones 2–4 by up to $0.12
3–5 lb packages: Rates decreasing for Zones 1–8 by up to $1.39

We recommend reviewing eBay Labels rates to understand how these changes may impact your shipments based on package weight and destination zone.

Last week, eBay sellers Cayley Elaine of Well Traveled and Gerron Moore of Big Dreams hosted a Sellers-Only Listing Hour Webinar, where they revealed their listing best practices.

They shared their real listing workflows, from sourcing and building drafts in bulk to how they approach titles, photos, and item specifics, along with practical tips you can start using right away. They also reviewed a few seller-submitted listings live and called out simple strategies to improve visibility and conversion.

Smart listing tips from Cayley and Gerron:

Cayley:

Track items while sourcing: Log title ideas, cost, price, and notes in a spreadsheet while shopping → eliminates redoing comps later.
Use spreadsheet uploads to create drafts in bulk: Utilize eBay’s upload template → generates hundreds of drafts in minutes.
Bulk edit to save massive time: Apply shared details (policies, categories, shipping, etc.) across all drafts at once → cuts down on hundreds of clicks.
OHIO - Only Handle It Once: Capture tags, flaws, measurements, and materials upfront → streamlines your process.
Fill in all item specifics using dropdowns: Don’t skip the dropdown fields, many can be auto-filled from your title → helps drive filtered search visibility.

Gerron:

Listings are the foundation of sales: Better listings = more visibility and conversions.
Use “Sell Similar” to speed up listing: Reuse similar listings instead of starting from scratch.
Leverage search bar suggestions: eBay autocomplete reflects what buyers are searching for, so use those keywords in your titles.
Keep titles clean and optimized: Avoid unnecessary punctuation and focus on high-value keywords.
Avoid listing mistakes that hurt performance: Examples: bad photos (or only stock photos), high shipping costs, and wrong category placement.

UPS® Rate Update

UPS has announced a rate increase that will take effect on May 17, 2026. This increase applies to all UPS services, including those purchased through eBay Labels.

eBay will continue to offer sellers negotiated discounts, and we recommend reviewing eBay Labels rates to understand the impact based on your package weights and shipping zones.

Please note that the only Delivery Area Surcharge changing on eBay Labels is for Ground Saver, which will increase from $2.80 to $3.45.

Intermittent Technical Issues and Seller Protections

eBay will protect your seller performance, including removal of:

Negative or Neutral Feedback related to the intermittent technical issues
Defects resulting from impacted orders (cancellations and claims closed without seller resolution)

We will also protect your valid tracking upload rate metrics and on time shipping metrics from any impact.

If you had an auction end after April 26, 12:01 pm PT, which you feel was impacted, you have the option to cancel the order and we will protect your seller performance and refund associated selling and ad fees.

Online shopping is more visual than ever, and video has become one of the most powerful ways to help buyers understand what you’re selling, build confidence, and drive sales.

That’s why we’re introducing video as a new way to showcase your items in Promoted Listings with a priority strategy. Currently in beta, this marks the first step in our journey to enhance advertising on eBay with more dynamic, engaging ad formats. As we gather seller feedback and performance insights, we’ll continue refining and evolving the experience over time.

Why video matters for you

With video, buyers can see your item in action, understand key features quickly, and feel confident purchasing. You can use video to:

Stand out in search results and top placements across eBay
Show how an item looks, fits, or works in real life
Highlight details that photos alone can’t show
Build trust so buyers can decide with confidence

How video works

You can now use short videos in Promoted Listings with a priority strategy. Videos autoplay in eligible placements across eBay. If a placement doesn’t support video, your ad will automatically show your listing image instead.

Getting started is simple:

If your listing already has a video, you can use it in your ad - no extra work needed.
If not, you can upload a short video when creating or editing a campaign.
You can add one video per listing, between 5-60 seconds long.

There’s no change to how you’re charged. Promoted Listings with video continue to use cost-per-click pricing.

Tips for creating great videos

You don’t need professional production. The most effective videos are often simple and authentic:

Show your item within the first few seconds
Keep it concise — aim for 15 seconds
Focus on one key benefit or feature
Design for sound-off viewing

Start simple, then refine based on performance insights.

Get started

If you’re already using the priority strategy, it’s easy to add video to your existing campaigns. You can compare performance using new video-specific metrics like view rates and video completion rate alongside your existing campaign results.

If you’re new to advertising or the priority strategy, video offers a simple way to increase visibility while keeping control of your budget. You only pay when a buyer clicks your ad, and you can start with just a few listings.

You can add video to your listings in Seller Hub or campaigns directly in the Advertising Dashboard.

Setting the right ad rate for your promoted listing can be challenging – too low and your listing may not get enough visibility, too high and it can impact your profit. That’s where eBay’s suggested ad rate comes in. It’s a data-driven recommendation designed to help you balance performance and cost for each of your listings, so you can promote with confidence and less guesswork.

What is the suggested ad rate?

When you promote your listing using a general strategy, your ad rate is a percentage of the item’s total sale amount that helps determine when and where your listing appears in ad placements across eBay. The suggested ad rate is a recommended percentage unique to your specific listing and current marketplace conditions. It’s designed to help you increase visibility while keeping your ad costs aligned with your goals. Because it’s calculated for each listing, it can be a helpful starting point – especially in competitive categories. It also makes advertising on eBay easy and more effective.

How is the suggested ad rate calculated?

The suggested ad rate uses AI and takes into consideration multiple signals when calculating a competitive rate, including:

Competition: Ad rates set by competitors, number of listings in the item’s category, increase or decrease in traffic for the item or category, start or stop of other promoted listings

Listing attributes: Price, quantity available for sale, item details

Listing quality: Photos, description, and completeness

Past performance: Seasonality, days listed, quantity sold, organic impressions, ad impressions, organic clicks, ad clicks

These factors are evaluated daily, and the suggested ad rate may change over time as marketplace dynamics on eBay shift.

What happens when you use the suggested ad rate?

Increasing your ad rate can impact how often and where your listing appears. Here are three common outcomes:

I got more impressions and clicks, and the item sold. This is ideal and what we expect to happen. In fact, sellers saw over 100% more impressions when promoting their listings with a general strategy compared to non-promoted items, on average (Data from Jan 2026 – Mar 2026).
I got more impressions and clicks, but the item didn’t sell. When you increase your ad rate, your promoted listing is eligible to show more often and in more places across eBay. As a result, visibility and engagement increase, but conversion may lag. This could be an opportunity to improve your listing.
I didn’t get more impressions or clicks. Competition may be high, or your listing may not yet be competitive enough to get more visibility.

Applying the suggested ad rate can increase the visibility of your listing, but performance still depends on buyer demand, pricing, listing quality, and marketplace dynamics on eBay.

Take your listing from good to great

There are other factors at play when promoting your listings. To help you get the most out of suggested ad rate, consider improving the quality of your listings:

Price competitively: Use the eBay research tool or view recently sold listings.
Write a relevant title: Include keywords specific to the item and organize them in a legible order.
Write a helpful description: Start by generating an AI description and then add key item details.
Add more photos: Add at least 4 unique, high-quality photos. Try videos too!
Provide item specifics: Select the right category and include as many details as possible.
Appeal to potential buyers: Allow offers, provide free shipping, and decrease handling time.

USPS Fuel Surcharge: effective April 26, 2026

Starting April 26, 2026 through January 17, 2027, the United States Postal Service (USPS) will implement a 8% fuel surcharge on select shipping services due to rising transportation and fuel costs.

What this means for you:

The price increase will apply to:

Priority Mail
Priority Mail Express
Ground Advantage
Parcel Select
All weights and zones

First-Class letters and mail are not affected and will remain unchanged.

The surcharge will be automatically reflected in label pricing—no action required.

We recommend reviewing your shipping strategies and pricing to account for this adjustment. We’ll continue to keep our community informed of any updates.

Smart Ship Tip: Even with this increase, you’ll still see significant savings purchasing your labels on eBay. The eBay shipping calculator will automatically include the surcharge on April 26, so you can compare carriers and services pricing.
