Would this very large double brooch piece be called a chatelaine style
brooch? Each faux pearl centered flower brooch measures 2.5 inches in
diameter and the longest chain is 24 inches. As seen, the brooches are
11 inches apart (from pearl to pearl)....
This is a thrift store find. I would appreciate any info/ideas as to the
style, age, etc. Center stone is hard - so, I'm guessing glass. It does
have a unique raised "checkerboard" pattern. Thanks for the help.

The gray areas are more metallic looking than what has been captured by
the photo. The setting is silver.The back of the pendant is not as
polished as the front and is more porous....
Thank you for the response. I would have thought about it being a
sweater guard, but it is such a large piece. It would almost be pinned
from shoulder to shoulder on me. I also think that it would be too heavy
for a sweater.
Thanks for the response. The 'perfect square cab' is molded glass and is
very interesting. I thought that it would be the key to finding similar
pieces online - no luck. I appreciate the help. I'll keep looking
