Ok, please disregard this post as I was able to ID the piece. It is Native American (Navajo) as I suspected and it's a snuff/tobacco canteen. A somewhat similar example and be seen below. Thank you all any way.

The OP's roundel plaquette appears to be an early (circa, 1490) version by Moderno, later expanded by the maker to the rectangular version/s seen below. From what I've researched, he often revised the same subject matter numerous times.

I just wanted to add... Below is a round gilt bronze Moderno plaquette with quad piercings similar to yours. Your piece appears to have traces of gilt(?) on the bottom right edge.
