Why Can I Not Reply To All Postings?

Probably wrong category for my question.   I am weary of seeing hundreds of posts where I have an answer but there is no button to click to reply. Just frustrating!  Do I need 1,000 helps, 50 solutions, been here 20 years?

  Want to reply daily to many posts. But no button for me to do so. Why?

You should be able to post replies to most discussion boards, other than some of the specialized groups that require you to join the group first.

If you are looking at the Member to Member board, only certified eBay mentors can respond to those posts.

Did you notice the qualifications?

Who Qualifies?

Mentors are selected based on their eBay knowledge and their positive Community participation. To be considered, you’ll need to meet all of the following:

• Active eBay buyer or seller
• Post using your eBay trading ID
• Posted more than 500 times in the Community
• Active Community participant for more than 6 months
• Willingness to mentor others

There has always been lots of questions in M2M.  Far more international members go there to ask questions than they do on the regular US threads.  It has been explained a on this short thread as to why the regular members are not allowed to post on M2M.  I encourage you to read the thread.

But if you have a question or concern, please ask.  There are many of us here that would be happy to assist if we can.

Seems like a strange way of doing things.

It's a good way of doing things.

Having limited responses on the M2M helps to limit the replies to, actually for the most part, being helpful.

Yes, others of us often have a helpful answer to provide, but just by following the threads that are on boards that are open to all it is evident that it need to be limited.

I was recommended  sometime back. Was not accepted. Although I do not have the expertise of some in all areas I felt I could contribute.  Now I don't care either way about doing eBay's work for them.

Not really.  If you look at the threads, there is all kinds of misunderstanding and misinformation that gets passed around from time to time.

Since the members that become Mentors are vetted by Ebay, Ebay is comfortable that these members have a good command of the rules of Ebay and are more likely giving accurate information to others.

That is not to take away from all the fantastic posters that are not Mentors.  There are a lot of them on the threads.  Good responsible buyers and sellers.  It is a choice.  You can apply to become a Mentor or not.  It is however the requirement to respond on the M2M board.  So if it is your desire to do that, Apply.

I just looked on the community home page.

It used to say answers or discussions.

Now it says "engage" with others.

I think I've been discussing, and we are now engaging.😄

Thankfully, I have often found answers to my questions.

Sometimes I just google it & answers from the community come up.

Sometimes the answers are from 2014.

I have many times posted questions.

I don't think I have ever gotten an answer.

They fall to the bottom pretty quickly. 

I had a question today I was wondering about.

Cant find a current answer.

Oh well.
