‘’I am not sure what to do, I exceed all the requirements for TRS on eBay however EBay does not change my status. I have called, I have chatted, I have emailed. I don’t understand, and I had TRS status months ago and it was removed by what an eBay supervisor said was a glitch, and even then I still qualified and exceeded all the requirements. It’s been 5 months, many sales, losing $ (10% final value fees) and eBay said they would get back to me several times and I have heard zip, nada, nothing, ZERO from eBay. Any suggestions?

thank you,

scott

There may be several reasons you lost your TRS status. I am about to loose mine not because of any issues with my metrics but simply because I have not sold 100 items in the last 12 months. Like a lot of sellers I have experienced a slow down in sales and simply cannot meet the 100 item requirement so I will probably relegate to Above Standard when the next evaluation period is done on the 20th of the month.

Take a look at the link dhbookds   provided and make sure you are meeting ALL of the TRS requirements.

As a Top Rated Seller, you can qualify for these exclusive Top Rated Plus benefits if you offer same or 1-business-day handling time and 30-day or longer free returns:

I don't see free returns on your items..... and you have to have the Plus designation to get the 10% off fvf.

This page describes the rules for qualification:

Can't tell if the requirements for Top Rated are met or not.......

I did a quick count on your feedback profile page. You have received 30 feedbacks for selling in the past year, and left 70 feedbacks for buyers in the past year.

Since you have left more feedbacks for buyers than you received, I assume that you leave feedback for most or all of your buyers. If that is true, then you have not had enough transactions in the past year to qualify for top rated seller status.

Another way to estimate a seller's total sales is to look at their Sold listings: The OP has 46 Sold items in the past 90 days, which would imply that he has sold over 100 in the past year. Many are lower prices, so perhaps the $1000 threshold wasn't met.  BUT if the OP says that they have met all of the criteria, then they must be checking their dashboard.

You also have to have TRS status, which the OP doesn't have -- and that's the apparent glitch. There's not as much motivation for a seller to offer free returns if lacking the basic TRS status.

Does your seller dashboard say that if evaluated today, you'd be a TRS?  Have you checked your numbers/percentages for each of the criteria?  Sometimes when a seller is right on the borderline, they will seem to be eligible but then at evaluation time one of the actual numbers is just a little too low or to high.

I spent over two hours on the phone with an eBay specialist editing my listings turning them into 30 day returns and one day or same day shipping. So if those listings are not correct then Ebay isn’t helping me correctly. You really have to be lucky to get someone on the phone at Ebay that knows what they’re doing, which is really the same as any other company customer service. But I want to thank you and all the other people that replied for your comradeship and help!  I think I probably know the answers to the question but interestingly enough Ebay themselves didn’t seem to know how to tell me.

I don’t understand exactly your reply when you say I have TRS status which the OP doesn’t have. What is the OP? How is this the glitch? I’m guessing you’ve run into this problem that’s how you know it. Also you must have some experience with returns that offering 30 days and not having TRS status Isn’t necessarily the best way to go about your business. Thank you

Five above standard. All my criteria is above standard and I will still be above standard from the way it looks next evaluation. I even challenged and had removed a defect. I think I don’t have enough sales transactions for one year Timeframe. Have enough sales, and over a two-year time frame, I have well over 200 sales transactions period early 2021 January February and March, probably had 200 transactions those three months alone. Anyway thank you very much for your help.

Hi, One thing I would like to know and you seem to make a note of it is the final value fees for top rated seller. Do you really save 3% of total sales? Also I have another question maybe you could answer. When you sell an item that’s an expensive let’s say it’s three dollars. eBay fees are approximately a dollar and net would be two dollars. But then it comes time to factor in $1.05 for shipping, so in fact when you think you made two dollars on the transaction you really made one dollar. It confuses me in some cases I feel I lose money on shipping and in other cases I may gain a dollar? How do you interpret this? Thank you for all your help,  I really do appreciate it. Scott

The time frame that matters is the 12 months before your evaluation.  For the August 20 evaluation, eBay will look at your total sales transactions for August 1, 2021 through July 31, 2022.  Your transactions in early 2021 don't count.

OP is shorthand for "original post" or "original poster"; that's you.  Your feedback profile does not show that you're a Top Rated Seller, so nothing that you do with handling time or return policies will affect whether your listing shows TR-Plus; you have to have TRS status first.

I think you are confusing Top Rated Seller and Top Rated Plus.

Top Rated Seller is a status assigned to a seller on the first of each month if his seller dashboard shows that he met all the criteria for Top Rated Seller in his most recent evaluation. The seller dashboard will tell you whether you are a Top Rated Seller or not.

Top Rated Plus is a status assigned to an individual listing if a Top Rated Seller's listing meets the additional criteria for Top Rated Plus. A Top Rated Seller can have some listings that are Top Rated Plus, and some that are not.

30 Day Returns and 1 day handling are requirements for Top Rated Plus listings, not for Top Rated Seller status. So if eBay was telling you that you needed to add 30 day returns and 1 day handling in order to move from Above Standard to Top Rated, they were wasting your time.

I think I don’t have enough sales transactions for one year Timeframe

You should not have to "think", your seller dashboard will tell you. If you have enough for Top Rated is will look like this (note that the bubbles are in the top rated range):

luckythewinner_1-1660077134539.png

If you only have enough for Above Standard, it will look like this (note that the bubbles are not in the top rated range):

luckythewinner_2-1660077367895.png

What you have in the past TWO years is not a criteria for determining your seller status, so there is no point in telling us or eBay about it because it does not matter.

This is what got me ... I can't muster 100 sales in a 12-month rolling calendar year anymore. I lost my TRS in June.

I'll miss it for the odd, de-valued Return, though (the refund reduction)... admittedly, have only used that once...

Oh, well. Upward and onward and all...
