Up until a few days ago Ebay was a great partner in removing unwarranted negative feedback. I never had to use any curtessy removals. Now when an ad specifically states an issue and shows an issue, the buyer can still leave negative feedback for exactly what the ad states. Opinion that goes directly against fact is defamitory and a lie. Ebay needs to go back to helping its sellers. We have been 100% Ebay sellers until now,

@oemspecialists wrote:Ebay will no longer remove negative feedback even with a return. We have 3 cases where returns were offered even though it was a buyer issue. Even with an escalation, Ebay just sends a note to the buyer. Buyers never change negative feedback since they do not take resposibility for their own mistakes.
That is why the FB wasn't removed. Ebay had to step in to resolve the claim.
Ebay only removed FB that a buyer has posted when you properly process the Request for return without Ebay having to step in. That has always been true

If the buyer left feedback for exactly what the ad states, that does not go against fact, it is not defamatory, and it is not a lie. It is simply restating exactly what the the ad states.
Using negative feedback to restate exactly what the the ad states has never qualified a feedback for removal. If eBay has always removed that sort of feedback for you, then you have been incredibly fortunate.

I occasionally get questions on items that are clearly spelled out or illustrated in several places ... Conditions, Description, Item specifics, Pictures. I always answer the questions and then point out where on the listing the answers are stated or illustrated in pictures.
I think one issue is all of the sponsored listings eBay has stuck WITHIN my Listing space ... if breaks up the flow of the listing and I can see where Buyers could miss seeing the details because right below the main pic are two rows of sponsored listings.

What is a courtesy removal?

A buyer can always return an item if they did not read the honest up front ad. There is no reason to leave negative feedback for the buyer's error.

Up until a few days ago Ebay would remove an unwarranted feedback as a courtesy for honest quality sellers.

its give open access to scammers to scam sellers now. its very unfortunate.

I think it must have to do with how many you are selling if you were getting some special treatment in regards to feedback that the rest of us weren't getting. As far as us lower volume sellers are concerned there's no freebies where they just remove it. There has to be an actual reason that it's allowed to be removed.

I too am disgusted with eBay non-committal care for long time or even new Sellers. How did they get to this point of not protecting their Sellers name. I had a customer leave very ugly negative feedback for a pair of Tory sandals. She called them fake but her first message to me was for me to give her $50 back and she would not open a case. I call that a threat and when I called her on it and I went straight to eBay as to how to handle it she then opened a case and left negative Feedback with a very ugly statement. I have all but begged eBay to please go read my 2 open cases with this womans from her first threatening message till her feedback but eBay won't do anything. I am Top Rated and selling since 2002. I am exasperated, eBay holds all the unfair cards over their sellers heads. Thanks for your message and giving me a place to vent. Charlette

WOW. you listed that ?

Her feedback will be removed if you just handle the case right and let her return it for a refund.

That item is in bad shape and "unpresentable" is the buyer's opinion, not a lie nor defamatory. I don't see any reason that would have ever qualified for removal. And that's as a TRS with lots of experience getting feedback removed.

Yes, though often it makes the buyer look like an idiot. There was one the other day that left a neg for a seller of some car part. Red Donut: This does not fit my 2019 Jeep. ITEM PURCHASED according to the title/specifics/and description some part for a 20+ year old Camaro.
Years ago ebay would actually intervene in a CLAIM for occasions "when an ad specifically states an issue and shows an issue.." but those days are over. The process is automated and the predicable results are determined by what dropdown choice the buyer chooses. Lying is NOT a reason for feedback removal, and lying is an acceptable format in any "not as described claims."
EBay's concession for sellers who get blatant liar buyer red donut feedback was that it no longer counts for your seller rating.

were you with the buyer? or you can proof item was in bad shape or not? how we know if that feedback was legitimate? there is no way to check if item was bad, mostly buyers are good but some are not, they do not provide pictures and just ding TRS in order to get free items, now a days many scammers using these tactics to blackmail sellers and ebay knew it that was reason ebay had that service to remove feedback as courtesy. now online platforms becoming hub for scammers to scam sellers.

Looks like you got one of those buyers upset paying $15 for a Badley used part . I can see this maybe case ebay could remove the feedback.
