Help w/Vintage Identifying Hummel Figurine Mark

hi everyone.  i picked this piece up a few days ago, thinking the mark looked unusual.  i'm not an expert on Hummels, but aren't the full bee marks generally from "West Germany."  also, the bee looks different to me from other examples of the large bee that i see here on ebay.  what i'm wondering is, is this piece more correctly dated as "pre-1950?"  any help will be greatly appreciated...thanks

if it doesn't say hummel anywhere, it is not a hummel, just a geobel

it does say MJ Hummel on the backside of the base.  i didn't upload that picture.  what i'm trying to determine is its age.

Most of the charts put the full bee at 1950-59.
