No.  At least not on the US eBay site.

However, since you are in Ireland, you may want to ask your question on the UK board.  They may have different rules about payment.

To use ebay - the transaction must follow all rules for the transaction at the location of the sale - (there are multiple ebay sites across planet). If the buyer wants to pay differently, they are out of luck for ebay purposes.

Cheques are allowed in the UK.
