I think it's a modernist piece, marked 925 vrs sterling, appears MM is an " H" when aligned with the purity mark.
@designergroove can we see the whole back piece with the closure?
OP states it's a pendant, brooch. It's tubular freeform in design with a tube knotted " tie" at base.
Pinterest has some good info, but I released my account there for good reasons. Nothing in my books or sites. Still actively looking.
