Hello jewelry lovers! I recently aquired a 1940's - 50's estate jewelry lot. One of the brooches is stumping me on how to proceed with listing it. I've been researching for a while and so far I've found only one listed on another site that is exactly the same, however theirs seems to be missing a piece (a third trembler inside the top flower). Theirs is signed Coro and mine is not signed. It's a huge (4") paved trembler. The seller of the other piece attributes it to Adolph Katz and shows a very similar, but not exact Katz patent with the listing. If this is a prototype or one of, I don't want to let it go for too low. Any ideas?
I apologize for the links, but the files seem to take forever uploading!

Spectacular brooch! I wouldn't call it a prototype but perhaps a variation, and there are many. It's frustrating to come very close to a verified ID but it's not an exact match. I'm working on a Coro ID right now that's similar to your situation. The patent picture is almost identical, but mine has an extra piece. When you're pretty sure of the maker but can't confirm it, you can always "attribute" it to the maker, pointing out the similarities and letting the buyer decide for themselves. Either way, that brooch will sell itself on looks alone.
