Help with Unusual beads...Trade? Ethnic?

Do these look like trade ethnic or some other identifiable beads?  The strand is heavy and strung on thin rope.  There is no clasp.

I truly am unknowing - but I would put them to use in a macrame project.  I put my loose beads together like that to prevent losing them until I find a suitable use. Then I cut the cord, knot with how many of them I need, and restring the rest until next time.

I wish you well with your discovery about them - the blue is sure a pretty shade.

In fact if you decide to post them as crafting beads - I'd like to know, so please alert me as to your posting #. I have a few requests for blue flower pot hangers and these would work well. TY.
