I have an iPad.

in settings there was an optimizing recommendation for my iPad pics.

must have clicked it by accident.

now all my pics prior to 2017 have vanished.

i have searched the net, posted on the Apple forum with no answer to this issue.

i even called Apple.

the library setting is on.

when I click on the photo icon, all I see are the 2017 pics I have left.

went online to see if I could access iCloud.

thought perhaps it has its on website.

all I get is a screen instructing on how to set iCloud on my device or how to find friends or find my iPhone.

seems iCloud is already on my iPad.

all the settings as per what I read online are set right.

so I don’t get it.

my pics vanished after I accidentally clicked on optimizing.

but left me with the 2017 pics.

can anyone tell me what happened?

are the pics gone?

Hello and good morning,  If close to an Apple store off I would go, if not you can call them directly and they will 100% help you in any way needed All Free.... good luk

I called Apple and no solution.

i live in France now and the nearest Apple store is at least 100kms away.

so till I can travel to one this post is my only resort.

barely got 1 reply telling me to check my deleted folder.

which I had already done.

pics are not there.

even posted there about face time and again no help.

thanks anyway.

have to accept the fact the pics r gone for good.

had nothing to lose by asking here.
