Is there a hole in the base?

Of what material is the item constructed?

Maybe the head of a cane?

I believe it's ceramic and solid, there is no hole on the bottom. It weighs 14 ounces and feels pretty heavy and large to be a handle.

The verdigris patina makes me think copper, but could be copper clad ceramic. Can you add a pic of the base?

It doesn't feel like metal, it has a bubbly porous texture looking through a loupe. It has a bit of age to it,  antique? or just someone's art project?
