9" x 7". I thought bread stick basket/tray but want to be as precise as possible. Made from Elkington Plate for White Star Line. This saw some action in the dining room as shown. What do the numbers mean? Anything other than the item id? I would imagine someone has compiled a ship's list against items they used but maybe not.

Both Yahoo and Bing point to asparagus tray, though the item was listed 3 years ago and doesn't come up anymore.

Just to be clear, I don't think this was used on board the Titanic but people collect anything associated. Thanks!

You're right about the "Titanic" association.
M is the letter date, and that is 1948. Scroll down to 1937 - 1960 and click on the date in yellow, at the very end of the line of dates:

The White Star Line was operational 1934 - 1949, by the way.

You asked it use, and that I cannot say. I did a Google image search, and I looked at some Elkington catalogues, all without result.

Thanks! Definitely will be serving up a batch of asparagus before selling it on.
