Re: Limoges Marking - please help identify

I"m sorry, but I'm pretty sure that's a fake.

Limoges doesn't have a mark like that.  You can check http://infofaience.com but I can almost guarentee that's a fake.  Likely from China.

Good Moms let you lick the Beaters.

Great Moms turn them off first.

Thanks for the info!  I was thinking it probably was fake too because I could not find anything.  I appreciate your reply:)

could be...

i don't really see the reason to reproduce it but who knows?

they made too much of it, still being made, most has little value.

(did say most).

i always do good with Limoges pill boxes.

i have seen this mark many times.

never questioned the authenticity.

just assumed it was newer Limoges and poorly made.

is there a company called American Limoges,

could it be their's?

Re: Limoges Marking - please help identify

There was a company called American Limoges, but this is not their mark. This is modern.

Re: Limoges Marking - please help identify

Limoge is a place in FRance, where there is volcano, and the soil is enrichedby the past eruption, hence limoge porcelain has a fine quality.

Those limoge pill boxes are stamped and signed, artist initial and limoge, france,

but the Chinese start making them and stamped Limoge,China, there is no place in China called Limoge.

The French went to intl court and won the case, anything which said limoge must be from Limoge,France, they actually have inspectors going around trade shows examining those items stamped limoge.

it is okay to say porcelain hinged box made in britain,Thailand,China,Japan, but just dont call them limoge.

Actually, labeling them Limoge would be a dead giveaway, since the region is Limoges, with an "s".
