This signed photo was found among others of famous classical musicians who appeared in Philadelphia in the 1920s and 1930, but I do not know who he is and I cannot read the signature. Can someone help?
Thanks in advance.

Dedicated to Schima Kaufman, who wrote a book about Mendelssohn but doesn't otherwise seem to have been very notable:

I am finding out a bit more about Schima Kaufman - he was also a violinist with the Philadelphia Orchestra.
