Artist ID Of 2 Paintings

Hi, I have 2 8 by 10 paintings by the same artist. They are well executed, but I cannot make out the signature. Most likely European, but not sure. Thanks ahead of time for any help.

They look like paperback book illustrations from the 1960's. Front and back covers if that helps.

So you mean someone based these paintings on the illustrations?  I agree they have a mid-century 60's or 70's look. I could swear I've seen these before.  Sorry I can't make out the signature.
