I got dinged by eBay for selling what they said was a counterfeit video game. I know virtually nothing about video games. I bought it at a garage sale and listed it. I had no idea it was not legit, though after doing some checking in the wake of eBay notifying me, I'm convinced eBay was correct. And I plan to be much more diligent if I happen to come across other video games to sell. My question question arose because another seller has listed what appears to be an identical item, and it's been up for quite a while. Oddly, it's also listed as "new" despite accompanying photographs that show case open to display the game inside. It all made me wonder how eBay polices counterfeits and bootlegs. I'd be most interested in any thoughts from those in the know. Thanks.

@flabids It's like speeding, not everyone that should be caught is.
You can report the listing if you recognize as not authentic. The report item link is just above the description box on the right side on a computer.

Thanks. Funny, I thought about the speeding analogy as well.
