Buyer in Switzerland

We have always been a US to US only seller, but now have a party interested in one of our pieces in Switzerland.  Buyer seems 100% legit, and we're not getting any weird vibes.

Should we be concerned about making a shipping exception to this customer?  Do we just send them an offer that includes the higher shipping costs, or are there other concerns that we should be aware of?  Any other tips?

FYI it is a ring, buy it now price just under $400.

Thanks!

Re: Buyer in Switzerland

I'll address only the shipping, as it is hard to judge buyers when not personally engaged.

In the shipping section of your listings, the buyer will see:

The seller has not specified a shipping method to Switzerland. Contact the seller and request shipping to your location.

If the buyer has not purchased, you can revise your listing to add "eBay Global Shipping" or the new "eBay International Shipping" (EIS) to that listing. The buyer would then see the total "full service" price to have it delivered to Switzerland.  The new EIS service is really quite protective of sellers.

Alternatively, if the buyer places the item in their cart and then requests an invoice when international shipping is not in the listing, you can quote "eBay's International Standard Delivery" service from your shipping label program. That invoice/quote would be paid by the buyer during checkout and would cover domestic and international shipping legs, and all but customs at the other end, which the buyer would later have to pay.  When using this invoice option, the "full service" programs are no longer available to the sale.
