Mystery Tribal Textile Art / Masks?

I'm totally out of my wheelhouse here. 

Are these modern replicas? Are they old? Where would they be from? Africa? Oceana? Elsewhere? 

What material are they made of?  

Any help would be greatly appreciated! 

The frames measure 19" x 10".

My sense is that they're modern pieces made to look old. The dyes look to be modern. There's tons of these that come out of Mexico, some made to be decorative pieces, some meant to deceive. With the pieces being so similar in size and framed in matching modern frames I think these were made as a decorative piece.
