I suspect I'll have to try my luck on eBay Germany
BUT
Been there and I don't know whether I can communicate (I don't read or write German).
(Anyone know how to work the German site in English?)
I've got a picture(?) made in Germany of inlaid wood from 1948 or before.
It shows a market area in Stuttgart.
I'd like to get as many particulars about it as reasonable:
-- when it was made
-- by whom (initials appear to be B.u.G.)
-- location in Stuttgart
-- and of course value.
Just for GP's here's the item:

http://www.marquetry.org/can_you_help_p5.html here is some history about the craft. I think your piece might be by the two artists mentioned!

OP,
To determine a value on your piece, you need to find one that SOLD...because after doing a quick search of auctions, I'm finding prices are all over the place...
Here's some information on these inlaid pictures.

Scroll half way down the page to find mention of a piece with a scene from Stuttgart.

I had the same experience when I searched further. I have a 1880 marquetry musical chair (Bavarian) and have seen them all over from 900.00 dollars all the way to 4000.00.

Thanks to all of you.
You've given me some places to start my research.
This item won't be sold; I just would like to document it.
My parents picked it up in Germany right after WWII.
