another dilemma - batteries won't come out

Hi, so i know shipping toys with batteries in them is a usps no-no.  I have tried to remove these batteries and they will not come out.  i don't see any corrosion, it's just a tight fit and the compartment is very small.  any suggestions, tips, or tricks to remove them would be much appreciated.  thanks!

Can't you pry them out with a metal nail file or tip of a paring knife?

I can try that.  was going to try a small screwdriver but was concerned that metal would damage the batteries.  not sure how sturdy batteries are.  these have been in the figure for 10+ years.  (they still work too)

Try using a small screwdriver and place some paper on the tip so you don't damage anything.
