I was recently contacted by ebay offering promoted listings, in which I choose what percentage of fees I would like to pay them on top of the 28% I now pay. My reply, this will hurt the seller's that choose not to participate in this offer. Ebay representatives reply, oh no, you will still remain where you were in a search result. What a revelation, by telling a half truth I should have been glad to pay higher fees. If a seller below me pays the promoted listing fees, therfore leap frogging me in the search, yes, I stay where I was, but the seller that was below me in the search is now before me. Ebay should feel bad about this, I have a feeling they won't.
