One of the loveliest coasts there is. All 18 miles of it.  Lol.

Have a great week everyone.

I spent my childhood summers quite often in Maine. Good time to go, the window of warm ocean breezes, or should I say wind, will be closing before we know it. Enjoy! Pick up a couple barnacle free interesting rocks for me 🙂

I have also been to Maine many years ago.

Here's a travel tip for everyone that I learned thanks to my husband who

likes to play everything by ear :

NEVER go to Bar Harbor in the on season without a hotel reservation.

It wasn't a pretty situation, lol.

We almost had to sleep in the car !

Oh yes. Bar Harbor, Portland get very busy in the summer. A little further north in Maine the crowds thin out fast.

There's a feel to the northeast that I have deeply ingrained, a part of who I am, having spent so many summers there. Every part of the country has its own feel, mentality, and sentimentality if you've spent time there. The northeast coast tugs at me deeply, except when I think of those nor'easters! Otherwise I would put it on my retirement possibility list.

I lived in Boston for several years right after college.  Spent my summers in a rental house with some friends in Newport, RI and have been to New Hampshire many times.  I absolutely love New England this time of year (and early fall).

Happy 2018! May this upcoming year be a prosperous one!

We were in Bar Harbor two weeks ago, which I thought would be "prime" season. Every single hotel/motel/B&B I saw had a "Vacancy" sign. Every one. Very surprising. We arrived on Sunday and left Friday, so maybe they're 100% full Friday & Saturday nights.
