BUYING MODEL TRAINS HO SCALE

First thing find a good seller one who has items not listed as NEW estate finds.

One who has fast shipping at a reasonable charge. Does anyone else have a hard

time with seller's ?

You just cannot put the Atheran box with the locomotive in it and pack it into a shipping box. If the locomotive is not secure or snug in its own box DAMAGE WILL OCCUR-----DUH. Yes I am **bleep**, out of the last dozen locomotives I have recieved, at least six of them had the entire motor and assembly within the shell in multiple pieces. It was jostled around in its own box, that is what breaks them. Get a clue people, we all know how items are handled by shipping companies and you are part of the shipping company if yoy box up your items sold for shipping

Many people who sell model trains have no idea how to properly care for them. They belonged to a departed father or estranged husband and look just like any other collectible or toy. If they were last used in 1985 and stuffed in a box in the attic, that's likely how they'll be shipped to you.

This happens a lot with photography equipment too unfortunately.

Unless you have reasonable confidence that the seller is in fact a dealer of model trains, you should probably make prior arrangements with him to ensure that it gets packed properly.
