promoted listing

Started 2 promoted listings. When I went in to search those items, neigther were listed in a catagory. What is the purpose of promoted listing. I thougt it was to get a better position, but I couldn't find either item.

How soon did you go looking?

It takes a little bit for them to populate to the system.. 

Which isn't to say they aren't hidden.. Been some issues lately,,, what lately,,, been some issues always.
