Ebay 100% supports thieving buyers - calls all sellers liars.

Apparantly, this buyer had a broken PC motherboard(MB)  identical to mine. So bought my MB on Ebay, received it, waited

a few days, then claimed "the Mobio is not working .. In fact upon arrival I noticed the CPU pins where bent on the corners

compared to what it should look like .. I still assumed that may just be a flaw in that particular board and assumed it

would not be a factor - sure enough to the MOBO generates codes not allowing for a boot." Buyer denied any damage

during shipping.

So I informed the buyer I was an A+ Certified PC Tech & MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) with over 20 year

experience working on PC's, servers, networks, etc. & that I personally packed & shipped that MB & there was NO damage

of any kind. I also told him I had a 15 year history with Ebay with 946 100% feedbacks. He responded he had 100% feedback

also. He failed to mention he had only 23 AND that sellers can't leave negative feedback for buyers!!

In his response he said "I too have personally built quit a few systems so this is not my first rodeo." Yeah. right Einstein.

That's why you claim you spotted bent CPU pins and "assumed that may just be a flaw.....and assmed it would not be factor"

and then installed a CPU & powered up the MB. Right!

I told the idiot that I had a fellow tech with over 30 years experience double check me as I prepared the MB & packed it for

shipping. He responded with this beauty; "I too had my assistant present and noticed the bent pins upon opening the

package together and .....could not believe it - As mentioned before we were being optimistic and believed it could of

been part of the design..." So now you have an assistant & you didn't think it was "flawed" as you said earlier; you & your

expert assistant thought mangled & bent CPU pins "could of been part of the design..." so you placed a CPU on the

damaged CPU pins, locked it down & powered up the MB.

Oh yeah, that sounds like the actions of a guy who "personally built quit a few systems".

He then says further "however when we compared it to my original MOBO it was clear the pins came damaged."

Yeah. So he admits he already had another MOBO. Obviously he had bent the CPU pins on his MOBO & planned to ship

it to me & keep mine.

Then he says "I have zero personal gain to falsify that I purchased a damaged product not described as sold." Moron.

Except you steal my MB & get 100% of your money back from Ebay.

I pointed all this out to Ebay Resolution reps & provided them pics & they refunded the idiot's money anyway. I was fortunate

that I had transferred his payment out of Paypal already. Ebay informed me that my 15 year history with them & 100% rating

with 946 feedbacks was meaningless as they always take the buyer's side even though he has only 23 feedbacks.

Before sending me his broken MB, the guy uploaded a pic of bent CPU pins from some MB like mine & claimed it was the one

I sold him. The MB he returned was not only NOT the one I sold him, but it wasn't the same one as in the pic he uploaded to

Ebay! (His pic is a .png named buyer.png & the pic of the MB he sent me is return.jpg.) I showed those pics to Ebay as well.

They didn't care. Facts, truth, years of service, 946 feedbacks, 100% positive, etc. mean nothing to Ebay.

I just called Ebay & gave them one more chance to lift the suspension on my account, remove that idiot's negative feedback,

& quit sending me notices asking to pay them the money they stupidly refunded that crook. They said no. So I'm quitting Ebay.

I told them that if this is their policy, they need to flash this on the screen as soon as a member hits the "Sell an item" icon;

                                                                               ****WARNING TO SELLERS ON EBAY****

BUYERS OF YOUR ITEM CAN LIE & CLAIM YOU SHIPPED THEM A BROKEN ITEM; THEY WILL BE ALLOWED TO KEEP YOUR

ITEM & RETURN A BOX WITH A BROKEN ITEM LIKE YOURS(OR NOTHING AT ALL) INSIDE. THEN YOU WILL BE REQUIRED

TO REFUND THEIR FULL PURCHASE PRICE, SHIPPING, AND RETURN SHIPPING. AND OH YEAH, YOU CAN'T LEAVE THE

DIRTBAGS NEGATIVE FEEDBACK LIKE THEY DO FOR YOU. CAUSE HERE AT EBAY, THAT'S HOW WE ROLL.

Why did you not just tell the buyer to return it for a refund?

Why was your account suspended for one bad transaction? I have read that eBay will get a collection agency after you if they don't get any money they feel they are due.

im a computer engineer myself, so i feel your pain.  parts, especially pc parts are highly scammable items.  if theirs breaks, they order an exact copy and do the old switch a roo and presto, they hav e abrand new item, and you get the shaft plus gotta pay the croks at ebay their fees for basically facilitating the entire ability for you to get robbed.

but in their defense, and the only one they have, "thats the risk you take while buying and selling on ebay"

Most likely because he was concerned the buyer would send him the old broken one in the photo and not the one he actually sent.

i cant complaign too much because of the 5 years i have at ebay, ive only had this happen 1 time, but from the stories i see like yours, it makes me afraid to continue on a daily basis and the injustice that is running rampid on ebay.  they will never fix this for this simple fact alone that they cannot make a suitable siloution too.

"they have no idea what was shipped, and what was returned if the case requires a return"

i have an idea thou, MAYBE ebay should hire a 3rd party.  we ship the itrems to them, they check the item we shipped against the discription, and if all is well they ship it out so its IMPOSSIABLE for a buyer to claim any bs like this.  but thats too easy of a solution for them.  they just gonna let people steal instead.  why change?  they get paid either way.

I think those two photos do show the same board, although the number of bent pins seems to vary between photos. I can't see any physical detail (design) differences, and the slightly wandering orientation of the inkstamps on the tops of those 5 capacitors across the top of each photo seems to be identical in both. There are also some dust or dirt spots on the hinge plate on the right side that are visible in both shots.

That aside, unfortunately eBay's response is always to stay out of he-said/she-said disputes where no one can prove what was shipped (in either direction), so they're going to find in favor of the buyer in a dispute like this. I don't know how much money is at stake here, but they may go to collections with it if the amount is high enough in their opinion, and you're refusing to refund the buyer. Sorry...

Ebay has way, way too many transactions for that to work.  And someone would have to pay for it (sellers).  And it would slow things down considerably.

I know my message was long, but if you read it you'll see the guy had a broken MB, bought

mine & kept it, then shipped back to me his broken MB. That's why I didn't offer him a refund.

but even if it would cut down the ammount of successful scams by 30% its totally worth it, since 30% is prolly a few million scam attempts.  ok so maybe not hire a 3rd party, maybe take some people with bs titles or item specialist to do the work, idk.

I love this and you need to tell eBay to make sure it's in BRIGHT RED!!

The longer I'm on eBay, the more convinced I am that idiocy in the world is growing at an alarming rate. No where is it more visible than the view from eBay itself.

The buyer's pic is on top. Look at the silver corrosion on the circuit traces between the two silver screws on the right.

Then look at the dark gray/black substance on the bottom right just right of DIMM_A1, DIMM_A2, & DIMM_B1.

Neither of those are on the pic I took of the MB he sent back to me. And the MB he sent back had way more bent

pins & in more places.

The ink stamps on the capacitors will be nearly identical as that points out the negative polarity side of the cap.

There's also a broken RAM retainer clip on the MB he returned that was not on the MB I sold him.
