Is there a place here to list the rights to a personalized license plate?

Had the plate for years and in the process of the selling the car it's on. Obviously would only apply to people in my state but is there a catagory for such a listing here?

Not sure how it works now, but I remember going to car shows.

And seeing cars with old plates on them, like from the 30's.

My 27 year old Honda qualifies for antique plates at a discount.

But you can only use them for going to car shows, or church.

Like you are gonna put an old beater Honda in a car show.

She is like Dude, I can look down into other peoples cars.

There was a guy in the drive through, not wearing pants.

In Illinois custom plates run about double the cost of normal plates.

Might want to check to see if others have valid plates with as the ones you are holding. Most custom/personalized license plate can be available if they have not been renewed. It's different with year of make (YOM) plates, they stay valid, since there is only a one time fee to register them, $43.75

Current custom/personalized/YOM  plates in the state of Washington must be transferred. If you have the plates and are valid, you have the rights to use them.

Must be a state by state thing.

Here in the peoples republick of Illinois, they want your money.

They make you buy new plates when you buy a car.

200 bucks to do a title and plates.

You can do a transfer if it is your old plates, on a different car.

But they still charge full price, just to transfer.

Illinois, where all our governors go to jail.

Only one person can have a plate with the same string of characters on it. Adds $25 a year to your annual fees.

Yep, they started doing that a few years ago, buy a car, buy new plates. Funny thing is a few years ago, they made a big stink about running out of numbers for license plates.

Ati, I was referring to expired YOM and personalized plates. Vehicles 30 years and older can use only a single plate, all others require front and rear plates. There have been license plate sellers at the swap meets that never verify one of the plates of a set is still in use. Some refund, some don't when that happens, they charge $125 to $225 for restored plates.

I bought one earlier this year for my 35 Ford, the business was tryingto sell me a restored plate for a "county" vehicle. It could only be used on a vintage county vehicle and most county vehicles in this state run "exempt" plates. Totally worthless plate, unless being used for wall decor.
