Consider this-your are required to have the item mailed with proof of deliver. But the buyer just wants the code, so you give it to them.
Then they file an item not received dispute. They've spent the gift card and now they want their money back too, because you nevder mailed the card.
eBay refunds them from your money and you lose TWICE.
