i think the seller has absconded

the seller nikeyima879 sold me an item which was not delivered. i spent almost 3 weeks hunting the local postal service only to find out that this seller shipped it to someone else and gave me their tracking number.

when queried, the seller said i would receive the item within 7 days.

it has been 14 days.

i checked the profile and the seller has had 5 negative feedback within the past month (their only negative feedback). basically i think they've absconded with the money.

ebay wants me to wait for some time before they will resolve.

what to do?

Check your order details page for the latest estimated delivery date.  You have 30 days from that date to file for item not received in the resolution center, bottom of page.  If your 30 days is up, you can file the claim in paypal for 180 days.  If ebay is telling you it's too soon to file, that means the estimated date for delivery has not yet passed.  As soon as you're able, file the claim and escalate for ebay to get involved as soon as they let you.

Never, ever let a seller string you along.........

- don't believe all their promises
- don't close the case if they ask you to until you get the refund
- never get a replacement - always get the refund and re-buy the item
- don't change the feedback until you get the item or the refund

Be smart and careful on ebay - you're buying from complete strangers and not all of them are honest.
