How does return shipping work?

I described an item just as it was I stated shows wear has scratches and has paint splatters on it. After the buyer got it they want a refund because they say it shows alot of wear has scratches and even has some paint splatters on it ...........really?? Now does ebay stand behind them and i am out of shipping charges both ways is this fair and the buyer will not email me back and has never contacted me. Please help

The reasons you give are exactly why it has become a bad business practice to list questionable items on eBay.

Yes, you will be required to pay return shipping as well as eat the original ship cost (unless you decide to simply refund and let the buyer keep the item).

Make the decision yourself before eBay does. If they are allowed to make it, it will be for a full refund and they will not even ask the buyer to return the item....AND you will get a "unresolved by seller" strike against your account (2 of which in a year can shut you down).
