Hassles from eBay about hot links

Your account was found to have links in your item descriptions that violate our links policy.

When you list items on eBay, you can include links solely intended to provide additional details about the item, such as additional images, technical specifications, and manufacturer warranties. Links to personal or business websites, email addresses (whether or not they are clickable), links to social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, etc.), Quick Response (QR) codes, are also not allowed.

WHAT IS A LINK?

A link is any text or image (such as photos, logos, or icons) that takes a user outside of Bay. It does not have to be clickable. A link can be a web address, such as "can't show this" or text, such as "please put a 'www' and a '.com' around my username." Links to social media sites are also prohibited (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.).

WHY DO WE HAVE THIS POLICY?

We don't allow sellers to direct members away from eBay, because if a member buys something outside eBay, they're not protected by our services, including our Feedback and the eBay Money Back Guarantee programs. It's also unfair to sellers who pay their listing fees.

This email is a courtesy to allow you to revise your listings and avoid a policy violation on your account. Please remove all prohibited links (whether clickable or non-clickable) from all of your listings.

We will revisit your listings on Tuesday October 13, 2015 to ensure your listings are in compliance. At that time we will remove any remaining listings that contain prohibited links and a violation will be placed on your account.

In the future, please make sure your listings follow our links policy. If they do not, your account may be subject to a range of actions, including limits of your buying and selling privileges and suspension of your account.

You may review our policy on links in the help pages here:

Thanks,

eBay
