Does cancelling an order result in negative feedback?

Hi, I had a buyer win a bid on one of my items last Thursday (June 25). When she did not make a payment on the item within two days of winning, I contacted her. She said that she would be getting paid today (July 2) and would pay then. I agreed to hold the item until then but told her that I would be relisting the item if she had not paid by the end of that day. She said she was perfectly fine with that. My question is, if I do need to cancel the order because she does not make the payment, how do I do that without opening myself up to negative feedback? Does she have to first request a cancellation, do I need to open an upaid item case even though we have spoken, etc....? I just don't know the best way to handle this type of situation.
