Not too sure but it's probably something obvious. I thought maybe figs but I don't know.

Hazelnut?

An umbrella and a mind have a lot in common, they both function better when open.

I don't know what those are, but I just have to say, this kind of jewelry is what attracts me to costume jewelry. Isn't this the most adorable set?

I think the leaves are wrong for chestnuts. Beech maybe?

I would vote chestnuts as well and it really is a pretty set.

Though the beauty may be in the butterfly, the struggle and growth occur in the cocoon.

OK, for some reason I thought chestnut leaves grew palmate. But then they don't grow around here much.

You are correct . They have that fuzzy green , almost furry look around them . This is a real stumper . I've been thinking about this one for a few days . Some of the fruit / nuts are round like berries , then some of them have , like Calico noted , a fig shape . The secret must lie in this . Very challenging . I almost think this is like some sort of Berry on a plant that birds eat , but not us . Anyhow .....off to think some more .

They are a gorgeous chestnut brown but definately not chestnuts.  I have a chestnut tree in my yard that I fight the squirrells for every year.

There is a power transformer right over the tree and sometimrs the squirrells climb that to beat me to the chestnuts, then we have fried aquirrell AND chestnuts!

BlueDaemon, yes - but it is the species known in the vernacular as "Chinese chestnut" that has that palmate leaf formation.Different species.

The woebegone american chestnut as once existed in wild bundance, sickened and died due to import of said "Chinese chestnut" and its infective parasites. (Or wait, am I thinking of the devastation of the american elm... ugghh maybe both.)

Hate to be such a drag....
