Domed or tiered would also be good descriptive words. I've been seeing this domed style called wedding cake lately also and it does remind you of the layers on one!

An umbrella and a mind have a lot in common, they both function better when open.

Thank you for the great descriptive search words.  Just what I needed.  I searched using "harem" because the stone

settings reminded me of a ring I have.  "Wedding Cake".....interesting, those sections actually spin and/or move-adding

to the bling effect.

Id go early 20th century on this piece, possibly edwardian, no later than 40s imho
