Modern jewelry sort of like tiger eye, what do you call it?

If it even has a name - it looks pretty much like white tiger eye but the bar of white moves up or down when the jewelry moves.  I know the jewelry itself is no big deal but it is nice to know the name of things.

There is a slight possibility that it may be chrysoberyl. I comes in many colors, tiger eye being one of them. Chatoyancy is the technical name for it's properties.

I'm pretty sure it's just glass, not a real stone.

A real chrysoberyl that size would be set in gold, not costume. It looks like glass to me too, and relatively new.

She who dies with the most toys still dies; when's the estate sale?

There are some very similar to mine that are set in sterling (mine isn't) and I believe they are just glass too.
