I'm confused (Again!)

So here's my problem, from the back side of this pin I'd say old judging by the trombone clasp.

Then when I turn it over it looks newer (to me at least) and it has a clear acrylic? coating.

So what you all think?? newer trying to look old or just palin old "old"??

Thanks

Pauline

Trombone clasps are still in use.  That pin is most likely a reproduction (but could be older) by a company that is still making pins today, using the same designs that were used in the 1930s.  Pierre Bex.  http://pierre-bex.com/en/enameled-brooches/

Great info realitycheck-7, just added this company to my list.

I've done a quick search and found some simular pieces.

Oh well I'm off to google again Smiley Happy

Thanks again
