It`s actually a dress clip.

Fur clips have 2 prongs..as seen here. Sorry no help on the dating tho

I have seen this design on a number of dress clips. I'm not sure that it has been identified as an exclusive designer that used it. Maybe someone else has additional information. It is a great looking clip. Is the green stone glass?

Keith, I thought I had a dress clip with the same back but it's just similar. No signature on mine either, but it appears to be from around the same period.

My WAG on dating the piece based on the materials used and the style would be mid-40s to mid-50s.

I was thinking earlier, Sandy. Possibly 1920's-1930's Art Deco?

Could be. Like I said it was a WAG. It just looks more modern to me. It looks to me as though it is set in brass. 20s - 30s I would expect it to be set in potmetal. But again this is JIMO.
