Now that would be William Jefferson Clinton!

My personal favorite name change that really needed to occur - to make the person successful at his profession:
Marion Morrison.

It's - Al Capone!

What threw me is I couldn't find anything on the aliases. I was even thinking it was Al Pachino because he made a movie, "Scarface", but it was a modern version about Cuban? drug dealers or something.

Here in Central IL there are a lot of people still alive who came in contact with Capone. In Toluca IL there was, and maybe still is, a popular Italian resturant supposedly named for him or owned by a member of his family - Capone's.

Back in the day, he and his associates would get out of town (Chicago) when the heat got too hot and come to their farm/lodge/hideaway which is a few miles north of here. I heard they enjoyed hunting and fishing on the Illinois river just like regular folk. We have an older aquaintance who was a long time nurse in the community. She remembers the doc she worked for treated him. For WHAT she didn't say, lol!

oh oh, now I have to think of one. hmmm.....

Tim Taylor, a longtime soap opera actor.

My name change guy here is not exactly "historical". Forget I used him. I'll try to do better and think of a different one.

Again, I apologize for naming a person who isn't either old or dead, lol! But thought I better answer who my guy, the former Tim Taylor, is. He is Josh Taylor - *star* of Day's Of Our Lives", the NBC soap opera. He went to high school with DH. He was (and is) a good looking guy and a jock; he got a scholarship to Yale to play football. Became a lawyer and then an actor.

Back to figuring out Mr. Mapother and Mr. Dzhugashvilli!

bettyholt - my hubby just loves those Home Improvement reruns! It IS a pretty funny show :smileyhappy:

Congrats bettholt!

Iosif Dzhugashvilli = Joseph Stalin (we had to learn that in school as well as Lenin and the other's real names).

Speaking of school, I knew a girl in High School (different school but we participated in a club together). Her name was Patsy McClenny.
