Hi @sheilasday, the neck knob is broken off the body. The knob is the bit that's now sideways (wrong way) in the head's neck opening.   The hole in the body's neck knob normally faces up, not sideways as shown in your photo.

If the broken knob is stuck, melted, or inside the head, forcing it out can cause neck splits. Place the head in a cup of hot water to soften the vinyl before removing the knob.

If original to each other, the broken edges on the body's neck and the knob should match up exactly.

You can glue the knob back on the body, but make sure to use a glue that is rated for use on plastic and vinyl, like the brand called Plastic Surgery, and let it completely dry. Warm the head in a cup of hot water before putting it on the body.

If you do repair the knob and plan to sell the doll, make sure you disclose the repair in your listing.

Hooo boy - somehow that Fashion Queen has wound up with a contemporary neck knob from the 80s or 90s. Those are the very devil to get out.

The body would have originally had a neck knob like this:

Instead, poor FQ has the dreaded loop and hook stuffed inside her cranium.

This may help regarding removal:
