It's shaped like a thistle but has no stem and it has no identifying marks. Anyone have an idea what this is for or who made it?

I think it's a stylized poinsettia flower too. Also, if it isn't a vase (I can't tell if it has a bottom or is open at both ends) it would probably be a glass shade for a hurricane lamp.

I believe that may be a stylized poinsettia flower and is meant as a holiday decoration piece perhaps..
