Tried to list some 1st republic Cuban coin and I get this warning. As of April 9, 2013 eBay will no longer allow Cuban coins of currency. My coins are not embargoed because they predate Castro. But eBay, in its infinite wisdom has decided to ban all Cuban coins and currency.
Any chance of appealing to reason and getting them to reverse this decision ? (ok, quit laughing)

To hruga,
If you read the policy it states they put a total ban on pre-embargo Cuban items (coins included) because "We don't permit the sale of items that claim to be pre-embargo because we cannot determine when an item was removed from a specific country".

When Meg left, she took common sense with her.

Cuban coin sellers have found a way around the prohibition of selling coins and medals from CUBA. They just don't put CUBA in the title or description.
They just list them in the OTHER country category of North & Central America.
I have seen listings for "Caribbean Country", "Caribbean Island", "Central America", etc. Many just don't mention the country, but the photo reveals that the item is from CUBA.
ps, what does Meg leaving have to do with the question? This change is relatively recent, but way after Meg left.

Maybe we should publicise that eBay is making a poitcal, anti-Cuba decision on its own accord aside and above from any such governmental ban. Maybe the Hispanic community can get eBay back in line and rescind their blanket anti-Cuban policies, along with an apology to coin collectors and the Hispanic Cuban community.

Right. Cuba is Communnist se we can't do business with them. China and Viet Nam are Communist but its okay to do business with them. That should be perfectly clear . . .
