OT-Favorite Band/Music ~ Reading C&PM

Hello Friends,

I thought I would mix it up a bit and ask what people listen to (if anything) while reading & posting here. Music is a huge part of my life (for better or worse) but it is always a constant. Does anyone here have a favorite group/band that they listen to and would like to share that with everybody?

I will take that next step. My favorite band is Steely Dan and I listen to "AJA" quite often full blast with my JBL L-112's flexing their might and reading the posts here. It is a cool experience for me and I am in hopes that those who listen to music while perusing this board will share what they listen to. 🙂 No right,no wrong, no scam; it is what it is. Do tell...

Thick as a Brick was by Jethro Tull.

Yes, I know. Those were two different album titles.
By the way, "Chicago Transit Authority" was the name of the public transportation company -- the band had to shorten their name to "Chicago."

Thick as a Brick is a fantastic album. Was "Velvet Green" on that album Bill? If not, that was another great song that I have on a "Anthology" type JT collection.

Not only are you very smart, but you are very funny!

Blush! I try.

I didn't mean I'd meet you in Tecate. I meant I'm about to drink one. You sound like Henri! It's in a can. You drink it with salt and lemon or lime. Then you start feeling mellow.

The only thing on "Thick as a Brick" WAS "Thick as a Brick." It was the rock equivalent to a Classical tone poem. One cut, about 40 minutes.

No, Jerry. Between post 97 and post 98, my honey recited his new mantra, "Turn off that damn computer and come to bed!" Just because he has to go to work in the morning...

Saw mention of the Allman Brothers Band over on the Grammy thread. Find Hittin' The Note (2003). Best Allman Bros. album ever. And without Richard Betts - Butch Trucks kid plays guitar on it.

I like most any good guitar music...blues/jazz/rock/ some country. For example, in our store right now the iPod is playing a mix of older-school jazz stuff. Johnny Smith, Tal Farlow, Django Reinhardt, Charlie Christian, Wes Montgomery... perhaps one day I'll be a good enough player to carry the guitar case of the cousin of the plumber of the guy who carries B.B.'s guitar case. :-)

Easy to pass over, impossible to ignore.

Have you seen the movie Sweet and Lowdown, John? Django Reinhardt is a continuing theme.
