1858-
The Yellow Rose of Texas
interesting tidbits about the tune
"The Yellow Rose of Texas" is a traditional folk song. The original love song has become associated with the legend that Emily D. West, an indentured servant of color, "helped win the Battle of San Jacinto, the decisive battle in the Texas Revolution."[1]
USA. FEDERAL ISSUE. Flying Eagle Cent, 1858, LARGE LETTERS. Obv: eagle flying left within inscription. Rev: denomination within wreath. Copper-Nickel. 4,77 grams. KM 85. Nearly Uncirculated.

LILLY DALE - 1852 Ballad - Tom Roush
You've probably never seen a U.S. coin like this before. The U.S. Mint began experimenting with different gold dollar patterns in 1852. The problem was simple, gold dollars were small and easily lost. And so the Mint tried out creating pattern gold dollars in 1852, producing the patterns now known as Judd-136 to Judd-148 which have a larger, more convenient diameter.
Instead a more practical solution eventually was decided on. The amount of silver was reduced in most subsidiary coinage in 1853, which returned the silver denominations to the channels of commerce rather than going to the melting pot. And the gold dollar diameter was eventually increased in 1854 when the design was changed to the Type Two format.
Heritage Auction's 2011 March Sacramento Signature ANA US Coin Auction features an 1852 annular (ring-shaped) gold dollar, with a wide center hole and the date, denomination, and country name along the outside. The lower half of the reverse shows a wreath. This pattern, known as Judd-145, is struck in gold with a plain edge. Heritage sold a similar coin to this one in 2008 for over $27,000.
Thats something else that coin. Nope havent seen that one before.

I will interpret for you the other post, what Amy meant was with all of your listings do you have any coins or paper money for sale? At least that would be what I think she meant..
and do you want to post any of your favorite music? if you can narrow it down of couse to just a few...at a time.

Thanks for the interpretation - means a lot! And I love your handle too!! I'd agree with that 100% - Jesus Rocks!!
As far as the music goes, I have over 400 titles for sale in my store here on eBay along with about 300 sports cards at this minute. I have 1000's more to post, but until I can afford an anchor store, I try to keep the listings under 800 - the fees are just too much. Of course you are welcome to browse - and if you (or anyone) have any questions, or if there is anything special you want that you don't see, just let me know and I'll try to find it and post it. Thanks 🙂
As I say on my ME page, we are trying to downsize in prep for retirement and some things are just too much at our age. It was a very hard decision to make to sell them - they've been a part of my life for decades - in fact I cried when I sent the first sale out - but I believe they are getting good homes.
As for the money- I have some foreign currency I've inherited from my parents, have no clue what denominations, collector factor, age... Anything like that - never gave them a second thought until you mentioned it. I also have some Confederate bills handed down from previous family members in a photo album somewhere (unless the kids grabbed them) - so I know they are authentic.
The coin collection was stolen when thieves came in one year and stole Christmas presents from under the tree along with a few other things. I also have some Franklin Mint stamp collections, and a few porcelain dolls that I have plans on being appraised. But, that's about all I can think of for the moment. If my Mom were alive, she would LOVE this blog - she was the coin/money expert.
Well I guess that's enough for now... Thanks again for making me feel welcome.
Goodnight,
Wanda

thanks Wanda, I found an old fav looking at your listings. I remember listening to it while babysitting in my teens late 70's. I miss spinning the old LP's, it would be fun to collect and listen to them that way.
