Hi Heron.
I would love to be 50 again. Unfortunately, I only have a little over a year to enjoy being in my 50s.
Try the weather down here sometime. It has been wet and cold (40s) here the past few days. Thank goodness it will get back into the 70s this weekend. Really looking forward to that.

That "little ol' band from Texas" comes to the rescue of a damsel in distress. This is the original video that used to be shown on MTV back in the days when MTV didn't suck.

thanks for the update Bill. Praying God's speed for your recovery- not really sure what that means, but I think it means fast. and not half fast. But super dooper fast.
take it easy, or whatever you need to do. me, I can sort of relate to getting old, mostly cuz I was messed up right out of the gate and in the slammer for cray cray at an early age. too much weed and booze. wasn't the way out for me.
Now I am pushing 50. The greyish brown hair has taken over the blonde. And I am done dumping chemicals on my head. The Europeans have outlawed most of the stuff they make around here. Anyways, time to embrace the grey, not to mention the age spots. Not that is really matters.
some day.......

Hi Everyone....
Wanted to give a hearty "GET WELL SOON" to Bill and sorry that he is having so many troubles with his recovery from surgery. Hope that you all are in great spirits and not freezing your behinds off.... Man not to rub it in but we have had a heat wave the past few days, temps in the 80s. I honestly do like the cold of winter and seasonal changes it brings. But oh well..

Thanks for the well-wishes Richard and Lori. They are much appreciated.
Richard, we had great weather this weekend with the highs in the upper 70s. Today it is cold (30s) and has been drizzling all day.
Here is a song from another Texas band (featuring Stevie Ray Vaughn's brother Jimmy on lead guitar).

Gee Lori, we aren't related are we? That sounds a lot like my "young and dumb" days. Fortunately, I got over it when I got older.

Believe it or not, Just Dropped In was his first hit.
Alice Cooper is has a gig as late night radio DJ here now, and played a couple Kenny songs on his birthday, and relayed a couple of interesting stories. I guess Alice and Kenny used to do the celebrity softball circuit, Alice was saying Kenny was a great pitcher and threw really hard, and Alice was the only one willing to catch for him... thought it was sort of a funny softball team pairing...
Hi Ted. Sorry that I wasn't around to respond to your post. I remember reading an interview with Alice Cooper many years ago and if I remember right, he was from Phoenix. He mentioned that in the mornings he would have to shake out his shoes before he put them on to make sure that there weren't any Black Widow spiders hiding in them.
I saw him in concert in 1975 while he was touring for his "Welcome To My Nightmare" album. That was one of the best concerts that I ever saw since he put on an elaborate stage show. Here is one of the songs off that album (with Vincent Price doing the intro).

BTW, here is an interesting factoid. He dropped his old band and replaced it with the band that Lou Reed used on his Rock & Roll Animal album when he performed on his WTMN tour.

Many people think that the rockers of the '60s and '70s only sang about "sex, drugs and Rock and Roll" but there were a few who did songs about more serious subjects.
Steppenwolf's two anti-drug songs (The Pusher and Snowblind Friend) have already been posted but Alice Cooper had his song about wife beaters and Pat Benatar had her song about child abuse. Here they are:

One last thing before I go. Has anyone heard from Amy? I assume that she has had her baby by now and I was wondering how she is doing.
